OVERVIEW
This course introduces the concept of Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) as a valuable framework for handling OSEC cases. TIC ensures that survivors are protected from re-traumatization throughout all phases of pursuing perpetrator accountability and are placed on a path toward recovery and restoration as early as possible.
This section also discusses the concept of a Victim-Centered Approach in managing and handling OSEC cases, including rescue, investigation, prosecution, and aftercare.
Learners are encouraged to step back from the technicalities of their professions to better understand how their duty of care for survivors can be balanced with their duty to hold perpetrators accountable.
NOTE: This course is exclusively available to participants of IJM’s POSE Fundamentals Training.
