OVERVIEW

This specialized course examines developments in the Philippines’ anti-trafficking in persons laws—Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9208, as amended by R.A. No. 10364 and R.A. No. 11862—and relevant regulations.

It discusses the new and salient features of R.A. No. 11862, or the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022, with particular focus on provisions relevant to OSEC investigation and prosecution.

Learners are introduced to new safeguards and requirements, including the responsibilities of certain stakeholders, in combating OSEC. They also learn about pertinent terminologies (e.g., OSAEC, CSAEM) and the expanded scope of prohibited acts under the law.
