OVERVIEW

This course is the second installment from the Updates in Legal Ethics “Trilogy” Series.

Just like the first part, we will also discuss selected 2020 cases but this time we’ll include selected 2019 cases too. We will revisit the different rules of the Code of Professional Responsibility (CPR) and its role in deciding the outcome of these cases.

This lecture hopes that after going through part 2, you will indeed understand that without ethics, even good lawyers could also turn out bad.

Specifically, the course will:

  • Analyze the narrative of cases covered in updates in legal ethics part 2
  • Discuss the Supreme Court ruling in some of the cases covered
  • Identify the different rules mentioned in the Code of Professional Responsibility (CPR) in the outcome of the cases covered

Judge Nolasco finished both her Pre-law course and Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines.

After passing the 1998 Bar Examinations, she engaged in private practice, first, as an associate lawyer in a law firm, and then as Managing Partner at the Nolasco and Uyengco Law Offices, which she co-founded with her husband in 2000.
