OVERVIEW
The rules of court, laws, and jurisprudence allow and lay out many stages of a case such as the filing of a criminal complaint, preliminary investigation, information, arrest, bail, arraignment, presentation of evidence, all the way to promulgation of judgment.
In between stages are fine processes and proceedings limited only by the creativity of counsels where legal skills or circus can be played out while the end of justice may be overlooked.
On the other hand, signposts to the destination are readily visible to one who intends to arrive, but not to those who desire to go on an expedition.
This course shows those signposts, landmarks, or milestones which must be availed of by the prosecution, defense, or both – failing which, they go through a full-blown trial where the court has its own arsenal of automated templates to terminate the case quickly, nevertheless.
At the end of this course, you should be able to:
Automate a template like a motion for plea bargaining, demurrer to evidence, motion for provisional dismissal, etc.
Standardize and speed up law office work
Unmask and simplify a tricky case
Obtain justice for clients without a protracted litigation
Strategize to possibly win a case at the earliest stage
Strategize to possibly get acquittal or lesser penalty
Cooperate as officers of the court
Explain the judiciary’s efforts to hasten proceedings
Tell the disposal rates of the courts
Discuss some basic problems in court
Use technology in judicial processes, including e-court, e-subpoena, automated hearings, videoconference hearings, oral formal offer of exhibits, etc.
