OVERVIEW
Under the Data Privacy Act (DPA), a data subject refers to an individual whose personal information is processed. This means that, despite the information being collected, stored and transmitted between different entities, the data subject still exercises the rights provided by law in relation to his personal information. These rights should generally still be observed even if the processing is justified under any of the lawful criteria of the DPA.
To give you a general framework for discerning the privacy implications of processing, this course will cover the various rights of a data subject and the general privacy principles of transparency, legitimate purpose, and proportionality.
