ABOUT THE COURSE

Every human being has intrinsic dignity and self-worth, no human should be exploited or treated like mere chattel.

The crime of human trafficking essentially violates this fundamental right of each person.

In this course, we will trace the origin of our Philippine Anti-trafficking Law from the United Nations Palermo Protocol, and highlight the purpose and salient provisions of the protocol.

We will then the focus on R.A. 9208 and R.A. 10364, the national laws legislated to specifically address this modern-day menace of human trafficking.

At the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • Analyze the elements of an offense of trafficking in persons under the national TIP law
  • List the aggravating factors which constitute “qualified trafficking”
  • Identify the persons who can file a complaint for TIP

This course will provide you with better and deeper grasp of the provisions of the anti-trafficking law, specifically about how the law is implemented by various stakeholders.
