ABOUT THE COURSE
This lecture is intended to clarify some points regarding the law on independent contracting arrangements and labor-only contracting arrangements, and how the Department Order No. 174 s 2017 has modified the Labor Code provisions.
We shall try to explore the meaning of an activity being “directly related” to the main business of the principal, as well as “control of the employee” within the ambit of a labor-only contracting arrangement.
We shall likewise discuss prohibited activities enunciated in Department Order No. 174, s 2017.
Lastly, we shall discuss what the companies can do moving forward.
