DEAN ANNA MARIA "ADA" ABAD

Dean, Adamson University College of Law

Dean Ada received her law degree from the University of the Philippines in 1990 and was a first-place recipient of the Sabido Foundation Award for Best Legal Research Paper in the same year (a joint paper together with Atty. Evalyn Ursua). She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1991. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the UP Diliman in 1986.

She was appointed as Dean of the Adamson University College of Law in May 2015. She was formerly the Vice-Dean of the Lyceum of the Philippines University College of Law in Makati City.

At the same time, she is also a practicing lawyer and the managing partner in the law firm ABAD ABAD & ASSOCIATES Law Offices, with her father, Dean Antonio H. Abad, Jr.

Together with her father, she has co-authored the Compendium on Labor Law, the fifth edition of which came out last May 2015.

She has been a resource person and speaker for over a hundred seminars and workshops, as well as MCLE lectures, especially dealing in Labor Law Updates, ASEAN Integration and Educational Law. She was a member of the Supreme Court Panel of Experts for the post-validation of Labor Law Bar Examinations for the 2011 Bar Examination.

She is currently a faculty member of the Lyceum of the Philippines University College of Law, Adamson University College of Law, and Far Eastern University Institute of Law, teaching Labor Relations Law, as well as Torts and Damages.
